Happy New Year, from Brass Ten! – 3/01/16
Unfortunately, its not a very happy New Year for the band or Salts Sports Club:
Brass Ten, have become temporarily homeless due to recent floods. The band had the generous donation of rehearsal facilities at Saltaire Sports Club last year, having lost their original rehearsal facility in Skipton.
Saltaire Sports Club was flooded over the Christmas period and the committee expect it will take six to eight weeks to complete repairs. This means that Brass Ten are without rehearsal facilities for this period of time.
We rehearse on a Thursday evenings and are looking for somewhere close to Saltaire which is central for all members.
If anyone can help the band with temporary rehearsal space, please contact us through
Saltaire Sports Club, Christmas Concert – 20/12/15
Great concert at the Saltaire Sports Club, our last event in 2015. Varied programme, with loads of positive feedback.
Today marks the end, of the first full year of Brass Ten. It has been a lot of work creating a new brass group, but completely worthwhile. Great music, company and feedback from our audiences.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us in 2015.
2016 looks like a promising year. Please keep visiting our website for updates and visit our Facebook page.
Brass Ten would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a peaceful, happy & successful New Year.

Baildon Moravian Church – Christmas Concert – 12/12/15
Brass Ten performed for the first time at the Baildon Moravian Church. Our Christmas concert was full of jolly Christmas themes, carols and readings. We had a reading “The Christmas Truce”. We played the following piece on honour of the fallen.
The trombone section became the butt of a set of rigged Christmas crackers which the audience helped open. The concert was well received and received a return invite in 2016, we all are looking forward to returning to this fabulous event.
Afternoon Tea at the Rendezvous Hotel – 28/9/15
Brass Ten held an English Afternoon Tea at the town's Rendezvous Hotel on Sunday 27 September.
The band played a selection of light music including excerpts from the shows and popular music - with pianist Nigel Wears entertaining guests between the numbers.
The event – was held in the hotel's Malham Suite – and was supported by Bluefin, one of the UK’s leading independent insurance brokers, which recently provided Brass Ten with liability insurance.
The band was well received by the audience, many of which asking if we were holding another similar event. Thank you for everyone’s support with this event which was a great afternoon for all.
Bluefin Insurance Services Support Brass Ten – 01/09/15
Bluefin, one of the UK’s leading independent insurance brokers, has helped the band finance its public liability insurance for 2015/16. Public liability insurance is necessary for the band to perform at public events and can be quite costly.
Bluefin in Skipton, who are specialist in commercial insurance, stepped forward to help the band with this relatively significant expense.
We would like to thank Bluefin for their generous and kind support of Brass Ten.

Diane & Stuart Morris, 50th Wedding Celebration -- 30/08/15
Brass Ten were asked to play at a 50th wedding celebration at the Pavilion, Valley Gardens Harrogate.
The band played a fanfare for Mr and Mrs Morris, to join the proceedings, followed by a rousing rendition of “Congratulations”. With the audience clapping away, the band was then asked to play “Kalinka” – where many of the audience failed to keep up with the band nearing the end of the piece. A very enjoyable event and the band would like to wish Mr and Mrs Morris their best wishes on 50th year of marriage.
Pateley Bridge Bandstand -- 02/08/15
Brass Ten enjoyed an afternoon at Pateley Bridge Bandstand as part of Harrogate Councils Summer concert season. For the most part the weather was fine, but unfortunately it rained quite heavily for the last ten minutes of our performance. The small crowed that had gathered, were undeterred and sheltered under a few large trees to continue listening.
The band received some very positive feedback from the audience and took a great deal of interest in our upcoming events. One audience member approached our Musical Director saying “Sir, I want to shake your hand. What a wonderful concert!”.
Thank you to everyone who supported us today.

Michael has played at the highest level of brass banding and also has interests in rock bands. He is a valuable addition to the team both as a player and as a personality.
